The National Gay Pilots Association (NGPA) has announced the 2018 Palm Springs Winter Warm Up and Industry Expo presented by United Airlines. The organization’s West Coast flagship event takes place in Palm Springs from February 8-11 and brings together lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people as well as their friends, families, and advocates from all over the world to share their interests in aviation.

The schedule includes the successful NGPA Industry Expo Presented by United Airlines held at the Renaissance Palm Springs Hotel on February 9 featuring seminars, guest speakers, as well as aviation products and services appealing to everyone from the hobbyist to the professional. Many applicants seeking jobs as airline pilots will also be in attendance to deliver resumes and hear the latest on hiring prospects from several airlines, corporate flight departments, and flight schools seeking to hire from a diverse pool of highly qualified candidates.

Featured speakers at the event include U.S. Air Force Col. William “Doug” Hall, the U.S. Transportation Command Director of Congressional and Interagency Affairs; Doreen Welsh, flight attendant from “Miracle on the Hudson” US Airways Flight 1549; Capt. Barry Schiff, renowned author and advocate for general aviation; and many more.
