January 2024 Letter from the Executive Director

Happy New Year, NGPA family!

What an extraordinary year 2023 was for our organization. From record engagement at national events and local chapters to awarding the highest amount in scholarship support in NGPA history, 2023 was a year filled with achievements.

Be sure to check your inbox for an email listing all the events we have planned throughout the year. The biennial Aviation Inclusion Summit returns this fall – and annually thereafter. With a special emphasis on how inclusion contributes to safety, this summit offers an engaging lineup of keynote sessions, breakouts, and panels covering a diverse range of topics on inclusion and diversity within the aviation industry. New for 2024, we’re thrilled to hold our first Student Summit! Summit attendees will participate in specially curated programs designed to empower them with tools and resources to help them develop as leaders on campus, within their communities, and as future industry professionals. You can find additional details on these events and more on our website, ngpa.org/events

As we press “direct > enter > enter” on our flight path for the coming year, I want to extend special thanks to NGPA’s donors and supporters. Your contributions empower NGPA to fulfill its mission: supporting current and future generations of LGBTQ+ aviators. As a 501(c)(3), we rely on the generosity of members to support nearly all of our programming and committee funding, in addition to NGPA-named scholarship awards. NGPA’s philanthropy society, Flight Deck, is the driving force behind financing the work of NGPA. Without our Flight Deck members, our mission would be unobtainable; thank you.

With the first couple weeks of 2024 already behind us, I hope the energy and excitement of a new year filled with new opportunities carries each of us as we head out to soar higher than ever. Congratulations to everyone on their successes in 2023, and I look forward to celebrating new milestones alongside you in the year ahead.

With Pride,

Justin
